(Source: nld.com.vn) HCM City (VNS/VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities need to focus on five solutions to effectively preserve cultural heritage in the city, according to Pham Duc Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Council. Experts and local authorities discussed preservation efforts at a programme organised by the HCM City People’s Committee and the HCM City Television Station (HTV). Hai said it was important to strengthen state management to prevent the deterioration of heritage sites, adding that "what is lost can never return". The role of communities should be enhanced and authorities should speed up the compilation of records about existing relics and heritage sites. ASEAN’s culture promoted in Mexico

In his speech, Indonesian Ambassador to Mexico Cheppy Tri Prakoso Wartono, who is rotating chair of the ACMC comprising Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, highlighted the significance of the event, saying that it aims to further enhance intra-bloc solidarity and the ASEAN-Mexico friendship. Designer Minh Hanh to introduce Ao Dai in Japan
Hanh will tell audience about the development of Ao Dai from the beginning of the 19th century until present. Vietnamese celebrities, including Ngoc Han, Thuy Tien, and Kim Dung, will perform Ao Dai during the event. This is the first time Hanh has joined a talk show on Ao Dai in Japan. Previously, she also attended a number of Ao Dai events across the world. In 2016, the designer was awarded the Fukuoka Prize for Arts and Culture. She has been the second Vietnamese to receive the prize after historian, Professor Phan Huy Le. The designer will be also invited to introduce the Vietnamese traditional dress to Russian audience at Moscow in mid-November.
