Designer blows Oriental breath into new collection

June 23, 2022 by e.vnexpress.net

After two years of work and six months of implementation, Dung launched a mini collection named "Vague" inspired by the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Hang stands out with bold makeup and an outfit that combines yellow and blue, with a cutout on the chest. The removable chest piece helps accentuate the wearer's figure and glowing tan skin. This ruffled dress with a bra-cup design combines screen printing, harmonious colors, patterns and crystals. Originally an accessory designer, Dung skillfully adorns his creations with jewelry. Hang dons a blue dress with a cut-out waist and feathers. The highlight of the outfit is its heart-shaped handbag. A fishtail element roots this design in nature. Protesters at U.S. Supreme Court decry abortion ruling overturning Roe v. Wade

June 26, 2022 by economictimes.indiatimes.com

Synopsis The White House said it also would challenge any efforts by states to restrict women's ability to travel out of their home state to seek an abortion. Hundreds of protesters descended on the U.S. Supreme Court on Saturday to denounce the justices' decision to overturn the half-century-old Roe v. Wade precedent that recognized women's constitutional right to abortion. The sweeping ruling by the court, with a 6-3 conservative majority, was set to alter American life, with nearly half the states considered certain or likely to ban abortion . Conservative Justice Clarence Thomas suggested the court's reasoning could also lead it to reconsider past rulings protecting the right to contraception, legalizing gay marriage nationwide, and invalidating state laws banning gay sex . As the day progressed, the number of demonstrators outside the Supreme Court increased substantially. The fenced-off area in front of the high court was filled largely with those … [Read more...] about Protesters at U.S. Supreme Court decry abortion ruling overturning Roe v. Wade

The sweeping ruling by the court, with a 6-3 conservative majority, was set to alter American life, with nearly half the states considered certain or likely to ban abortion. Conservative Justice Clarence Thomas suggested the court's reasoning could also lead it to reconsider past rulings protecting the right to contraception, legalizing gay marriage nationwide, and invalidating state laws banning gay sex. As the day progressed, the number of demonstrators outside the Supreme Court increased substantially. The fenced-off area in front of the high court was filled largely with those demanding abortion rights. Crowds carried posters with slogans such as "Abort SCOTUS." One protester carried a placard that said "limit guns, not women" in reference to another Supreme Court decision this week expanding gun rights. Earlier in the afternoon, a supporter of Friday's ruling said: "The thing that 'my body, my choice' advocates don't get is that the aborted baby never had a choice." WHO eyes decision on monkeypox ’emergency’, Africa says it’s long overdue

June 24, 2022 by e.vnexpress.net

The deliberations and scrutiny of the WHO's response to the outbreak follows concerns over how the United Nations agency and governments worldwide handled Covid-19 in early 2020. A "public health emergency of international concern" is WHO's highest level of alert. The agency does not declare pandemics, but it did start using the term to describe Covid-19 in March 2020. For many governments, that - rather than WHO's earlier declaration of an emergency in January - was the moment they began to take real action to try to contain Covid, which proved to be too late to make a difference. Monkeypox does not spread nearly as easily as Covid and there are vaccines and treatments available, unlike for the coronavirus when it emerged. But it has still raised alarm. The case count from the current outbreak outside of Africa has topped 3,000 in more than 40 countries, according to a Reuters tally - largely among men who have sex with men - since it was first reported in May. There have been … [Read more...] about WHO eyes decision on monkeypox ’emergency’, Africa says it’s long overdue
