PM hosts welcome party praising Vietnamese football’s success at SEA Games
A welcome party in Hanoi led by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was put on for both the Vietnamese men’s and women’s football teams. The teams landed back in the country on the evening of December 11 after collecting their gold medals at the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines. PM Phuc warmly greets both the men’s and women’s football teams at the Government Office in Hanoi. Head coach of the women’s team Mai Duc Chung shows his sincere gratitude to the PM for putting on such a warm welcome for the team. The women’s team enjoyed a hugely successful time at the SEA Games 30, scoring 10 goals and only conceding once with Tuyet Dung as the team’s leading scorer with three goals. Prime Minister emphasises youths’ role in national development

At a dialogue with young people as part of the eighth National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) in Hanoi on December 12, PM Phuc said State agencies and ministrations at all levels have always facilitated the development of the youth. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong is 42 and she fears what middle age will do to her face. Like many of her friends, she sees cosmetic surgery as a way to extend her youthful looks. Phuong originally planned to undergo a face-lift procedure and nose job at a beauty clinic in Saigon's District 10 next month that would cost her more than VND80 million ($3,438). But she's changed her decision, fearing for her life after a series of plastic surgeries went fatally wrong at private clinics in Vietnam's southern metropolis. "I want to look younger and more beautiful as the Lunar New Year is coming near. But I'm afraid of dying and I don't dare to risk my life," the grocery store owner said.
