Head coach Mai Duc Chung said he is satisfied with the training results of the whole team so far. A total of 25 players are heading for the training in France and the AFF tournament. The group is scheduled to move to the Philippines on July 2. The championship will run from July 4-17, with the participation of a record 11 teams. Vietnamese women’s football squad warmly welcomed in Paris
Vietnamese both at home and abroad have closely followed the progress made by the squad, which triumphed the Southeast Asian Games for seven times and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women's Championship three times, the diplomat noted. Vietnam U19s to play Japan, Saudi Arabia in friendly tournament
Vietnam’s U19 team are set to host Japan, Myanmar, and Saudi Arabia in an international U19 tournament which is scheduled to take place in the southern province of Binh Duong from August 5 to August 11. The competition will see four teams play in a round-robin format, with the first and second-placed teams progressing to the final match. The two remaining teams will then play against each other for the third-placed position. All fixtures in the competition will be held at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on August 5, August 7, August 9, and August 11, respectively. The tournament will be organised after the 2022 AFF U19 Youth Championship due to run between July 2 and July 15, and before the AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers due to run from September 14 to September 18. If he passes it, his contract with the club will take effect and Hai will become the first Vietnamese player to play for a professional league in France. Established in 1920, Pau FC finished 10th in Ligue 2 in the last season. It owns the 4,031-seater Nouste Campo stadium. Bernard Laporte-Fray, president of the club, chose Hai because of his creative and clever style, the newspaper said. He decided to sign a two-year contract with the Vietnamese midfielder with an option of extending for another year. FIFA increases squad limit to 26 for World Cup
FIFA said the change was due to the unusual timing of the tournament as well as the impact of Covid-19 on squads. The showpiece event in Qatar will run from Nov. 21-Dec. 18. "The number of players to be included on the final list has been increased to at least 23 and a maximum of 26," it said in a statement. "No more than 26 people (up to 15 substitutes and 11 team officials) will be allowed to sit on the team bench."
