Speaking at a conference at the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) in Da Nang on Friday, he said the country needs to narrow the digital gap and make the Internet available to everybody and ensure "no one is left behind." For this to happen, Vietnam is striving to provide broadband Internet access to every household and smartphone, he said. The government wants to popularize the ‘.vn’ national domain name to exploit the value of Internet resources and develop the digital economy, he said. "The domain will reach at least one million and rank in the world’s top 20-30." The government plans to develop infrastructure, including undersea fiber-optic cables, he said. Vietnam is predicted with a high growth prospect in the region, at more than 6.5% in 2022, 0.7% higher than the average growth of 5.8% for the whole region. This was a key finding from the Economic Forecast presented by the experts at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Economic Insight Forum Q2. They are mainly in Chợ Gạo, Tân Phước, Gò Công Tây, and Gò Công Đông districts, with the last-mentioned accounting for nearly 7,500ha. This is part of the measures that the department proposed on Thursday in a report on traffic adjustment to solve congestion on some roads. According to the department, despite the BRT bus route being a radial axis, its operational efficiency is reduced, while the high volume of vehicles, especially during peak hours, causes congestion.
