May 26, 2022 by tuoitrenews.vn

An aeroplane dedicated to Argentine great Diego Maradona was unveiled on Wednesday ahead of a journey that will end at the World Cup in Qatar later this year. The Tango D10S – a 12-seater financed by an Argentine fintech company - is designed as a flying museum in tribute to the former World Cup winner, who died of a heart attack in November 2020. It features a picture of Maradona kissing the World Cup trophy on the fuselage, while his face is also on the tail. The wings feature both of his goals from Argentina's 2-1 victory over England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-final: the 'Hand of God' goal on the left wing and the winner, a goal widely regarded as the greatest of all time, on the right. Women in Southeast Asia’s low-income economies emerge as the world’s most resilient entrepreneurs

May 26, 2022 by ven.vn

Women in Southeast Asia, such as the Philippines and Vietnam, have fared particularly well in making entrepreneurial progress, despite significant social-cultural and infrastructural barriers threatening to impede their growth. Lack of government SME support, poor access to entrepreneurial finances, and a severe lack of education opportunities remain the major constraints to advancing women’s entrepreneurship in Asia’s lower-middle-income economies. Encompassing 65 economies and 82.4% of the global female labor force, the fifth edition of Mastercard’s Index for Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE) examined women’s progress in the global entrepreneurship landscape over the last two years. The findings reveal that despite worldwide efforts to mitigate the pandemic’s effects, women have experienced considerable economic and social implications. As a result, the expected time to overcome the worldwide gender gap may be extended by another 36 years. Six economies from the Asia Pacific … [Read more...] about Women in Southeast Asia’s low-income economies emerge as the world’s most resilient entrepreneurs

Singapore’s GDP may expand only 3-4 percent this year

May 25, 2022 by en.vietnamplus.vn

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) of Singapore on May 25 predicted that the country's GDP growth this year may reach only 3-4 percent, lower than the previous forecast of 3-5 percent for this year. In a statement released the same day, the ministry said that Singapore maintained its 3-5 percent economic growth forecast for 2022, but warned that growth will likely come in at the lower half of the forecast range because of the impact of the war in Ukraine and China's strict COVID-19 lockdowns . The conflict has disrupted the global supply of energy, food and other commodities, which has in turn exacerbated global inflationary pressures and adversely affected the growth of many economies, said the statement released with the first-quarter 2022 Economic Survey of Singapore . The ministry said that as a result of the war and lockdowns, global supply disruptions are likely to be more severe and prolonged than earlier expected, potentially persisting … [Read more...] about Singapore’s GDP may expand only 3-4 percent this year
