Dias makes case for Man City defence as Liverpool struggle

Dias makes case for Man City defence as Liverpool struggle (photo: youtube/Man City) Pep Guardiola's men have conceded just two goals in their past 13 league games, winning nine in a row to open up a seven-point lead over fourth-placed Liverpool, with a game in hand. Liverpool took City's crown as champions last season, romping to a first league title in 30 years. But the contrasting fortunes at centre-back for both clubs this season have helped City reassert their position as the team to beat in English football. After a humbling 5-2 home defeat by Leicester in their second game of the season, City splashed out £62 million ($85 million) on Ruben Dias from Benfica. In 27 games, the Portuguese international has been on the losing side just once and has kept 18 clean sheets, forming a formidable partnership with a revitalised John Stones. So strong has that pairing been that Aymeric Laporte -- the bedrock of the City defence that denied Liverpool the title by a point in the 2018/19 season -- has largely been left in reserve along with another £40 million summer centre-back signing, Nathan Ake. "We knew the quality he had on the pitch, we knew a little bit his personality, but we have been impressed at the consistency to be ready mentally and physically to play every three days," said Guardiola on Dias's impact. Stretch of Hanoi’s ring road widened for smoother traffic

The Hanoitimes - Pham Van Dong street, part of Hanoi's Ring Road 3, is one of the arterial thoroughfares connecting innercity districts with Noi Bai International Airport. Pham Van Dong street, part of Hanoi's Ring Road 3, in Mai Dich - Nam Thang Long section has been widened to 12 lanes and works on the widening of the stretch connecting the two bridges of Nhat Tan and Thang Long have just been completed, VnExpress reported. Pham Van Dong street is one of the arterial thoroughfares connecting innercity districts with Noi Bai International Airport. The project began in October 2016 with an investment of more than VND3,000 billion (US$129.6 million). This is the northwestern entrance to Hanoi, connecting the capital city with other northwestern provinces, so it is often congested. By expanding it to 12 lanes, the municipal government hope to resolve the chronic traffic jam on this highway. Pham Van Dong road was completed and opened to traffic over a year ago; however, half of the road was fenced to build the Mai Dich - Nam Thang Long viaduct on Ring Road 3 since January 2018. The 5.3 km viaduct, including 4.6 km of elevated stretch, was invested with VND5.3 trillion (US$230 million). Besides, in July, the construction and repair project for Thang Long bridge kicked off with a total investment of nearly VND270 billion (US$11.7 million). This repair project will be completed by the end of 2020 at the same time with the inauguration of Mai Dich - Nam Thang Long viaduct, ensuring smooth, safe and convenient traffic. On October 5, many roads were divided into lanes. The lower road is expanded to 93 m, each direction has six lanes with a width of 3.5 m each. Photo: VnExpress The median strip is from 3.5m to 10m wide depending on location. By October 5 morning, many trees have been grown on most of its area.
