As part of the Vietnam Days programme in the US to commemorate the 20th anniversary of normalized diplomatic ties, a wide range of cultural events are being organised at the John.F Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington DC. At the event, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said the event introduced Vietnamese traditional musical instruments and costumes to the US public, and helped them better understand the long and rich history of Vietnam, along with its diverse cultural identities. Japanese firm eyes investment in Hanoi river pollution treatment
The Japan-Vietnam Environmental Improvement Joint Stock Company (JVE) has shown their interest in the initial investment in a project to help tackle the pollution in Hanoi’s To Lich River, using Japanese Nano-Bioreactor technology. The company, which carried out the Japanese-funded pilot treatment of water pollution on part of the To Lich River and the West Lake using Japan’s Nano-Bioreactor technology, on Tuesday announced that they had found the solution on how to deal with the pollution of the entire To Lich River. The Japanese-funded pilot treatment of water pollution on part of the To Lich River According to a JVE representative, wastewater will be treated directly at drains by underground Nano- Bioreactor systems before being discharged into To Lich. Hong Kong firm eyes 80-mln-USD wind power project in Thanh Hoa
A meeting between local authorities and representatives of the Hong Kong firm (Source: Thanhhoa.gov.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Representatives of the Hong Kong-based Envision Energy recently paid a visit to Thanh Hoa to discuss a wind power energy project in the central province. The firm voiced its hope to build a wind power plant on an area of about 8.7 ha in Hoang Hoa district. The plant, which is expected to be built at a budget of 80 million USD, will have a capacity of 50 MW. It is projected to generate an average of 129.5 million kWh per year for the national grid.
