MND meets with national contributors from Kon Tum
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh presented gifts of the Ministry of National Defense to the national contributors. Gen. Minh also underlined that over the past year, the whole military has effectively implemented the gratitude movements, calling for more resources to take care of national contributors. During the past ten years, the whole military has mobilized troops and others to contribute nearly VND 550 billion to the gratitude fund, built more than 7,000 gratitude houses, taken care of 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers; offered jobs to more than 420 children of severely-wounded soldiers at convalescent centers as well as wives and children of martyrs who laid down their lives while performing military-defense missions. Hanoi launches Action Month for Children 2023

Prime Minister visits educational institutions for disadvantaged children

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 30 visited educational institutions for disadvantaged children in Hanoi on the occasion of International Children’s Day (June 1) and Action Month for Children. At the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, established in 1994 with its construction funded by the SOS Children’s Village, Chinh presented gifts to the school and its outstanding students. The school was named after Austrian philanthropist Hermann Gmeiner – the founder of the SOS Children’s Village, which is home to underprivileged children.
