Human rights considerations: Dialogue and cooperation are the only effective way

In discussing specialized contents at human rights forums, Vietnam advocates to ensure a comprehensive and balanced approach between rights groups, especially when many Western countries tend to attach importance more to civil and political rights than other rights. Vietnam works closely with developing countries to promote groups of priority rights, especially regarding economic, social, cultural, development rights, and the rights of vulnerable groups. Vietnam emphasizes that human rights issues should be considered on the basis of respect for specific elements of each country in terms of history, culture and development level. Achievements in ensuring human rights, the premise for Vietnam’s positions at international forums

The results of ensuring human rights in reality of the State of Vietnam are also proved through convincing numbers. According to the UNDP 2018 Report, Vietnam belonged to the group of countries with high average Human Development Index (116 out of 185 countries) and the Gender Equality Index (67 out of 160 countries).
