The Philippines is still first with 105 golds, 81 silvers and 88 bronzes. Indonesia is second, having secured 65 golds, 61silvers and 77 bronzes. Fourth-place Thailand has 55 golds and fifth-place Singapore gets 43 golds. Pham Thi Thu Trang marked a successful day for Vietnam by winning a gold in the track and field event. CMC and MND mission takes the “Returning to the Roots” tour to Cao Bang

The tour aimed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 30th anniversary of the whole people’s defense festive day. The mission offered incense to the Eldest Brother of the Vietnam People’s Army General Vo Nguyen Giap and fallen soldiers of the Vietnam Armed Propaganda and Liberation Team (the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army) at the Special National Relic Site of Tran Hung Dao Forest.  They also attended a ceremony to inaugurate the Ministry of National Defense-invested project on upgrading the Special National Relic Site of Tran Hung Dao Forest. Over the past 75 years, this historical location, where the Vietnam Armed Propaganda and Liberation Team was founded with 34 members, has been carefully preserved by the Cao Bang people. German firms see positive outlook

German businesses are seeing Vietnam as an attractive destination for investment (photo: Le Toan) Wolfgang Schmitz-Heinen, CEO of Witte Holding GmbH, visited Vietnam for the first time recently to look for opportunities to start a business here. Witte is a family-run global company in the printing business that specialises in printing secure and self-adhesive labels for various applications including the automotive and electronic industry. “We want to expand abroad more than before and are analysing different countries, and we got the opportunity to join this business delegation organised by the OAV-German Asia-Pacific Business Association to Vietnam.
