Remains of Vietnamese fallen troops in Laos handed over to Vietnamese side
The event was jointly held by the special missions of three Lao provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Saysombun and the Vietnamese province of Nghe An. The remains were collected by the Search and Collection Team under the Nghe An provincial Military Command in the three Lao provinces in the 2021-2022 dry season despite numerous difficulties and hardships. Foreign arrivals soar two months after border reopening
The number of foreign visitors to Vietnam has increased rapidly with 252,000 arrivals after the government reopened borders on March 15, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). Hue royal palace removed for restoration
Thai Hoa Palace was built in 1805 during the reign of King Gia Long, the first ruler of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945), Vietnam's last royal family. It used to be the venue for political discussions, coronation ceremonies and the king's birthday celebrations. After over 100 years of existence, the palace has been badly deteriorated. Earlier, the Center for Conservation of Hue Monuments, which manages the Hue Imperial Citadel and other relics from the Nguyen Dynasty, was granted a license to carry out the renovation project.
