All newly-conscripted soldiers were required to go through a medical checkup. FLC fails to achieve quorum in extraordinary meeting
The company said that 103 shareholders showed up at at the meeting on Sunday but that they held only a combined 32.15% stake. FLC is set to call another extraordinary meeting on March 5. Regulations allow it to conduct this meeting if shareholders owning 33% of voting shares are present. The extraordinary meeting was called to approve the dismissal of Deputy Chairman Dang Tat Thang, who was among the founders of the company. The FLC board of directors now has only four people, and the company wants to increase this number to six. HCMC proposes building parking lots on empty land
The suggestion has been sent to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for consideration, before being presented to the central government. The proposal was made as the southern metropolis of 10 million people is currently suffering from a severe shortage of parking space. There are only around 300 ha of parking space, far short of the city’s goal of 1,200 ha, according to official data. HCMC is requesting the National Assembly allow investing in structures with the usage of no more than 10 years on empty land. These projects may include high-rise parking complexes and structures for culture and sport activities. Such investments would help utilize funds from multiple sources, and also help with meeting the demand for parking spaces and reducing the costs incurred due to traffic congestion, HCMC authorities said. $1.8 billion Quang Trach 1 thermal power faces difficulties in land clearance According to the report of the Power Project Management Board No. 2 , at present the land clearance in some communes, such as Quang Hop, Quang Chau, Quang Kim, Quang Phu, Quang Dong, and Hon La Economic Zone, have yet to be completed, thus the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor has yet to receive the available ground. The EPC constructor is a consortium of contractors comprising Japan's Mitsubishi Corp, Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company of the Republic of Korea, and Construction Corporation No.1 of Vietnam. Covering an area of 48.6 hectares in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach 1 thermal power plant combines two turbines with a total capacity of 1,200MW. Man fatally hit by truck after riding motorbike on expressway in southern Vietnam
A man was fatally hit by a truck after riding his motorbike on an expressway meant only for four-wheel vehicles in southern Vietnam. Preliminary information showed that the truck was traveling along the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway at around 10:20 pm on Sunday. After reaching Thanh Duc Commune in Ben Luc District, Long An Province, the truck collided with a motorbike running in the opposite direction.
