Vietnam attends South Asia’s Leading Travel Show in India Visitors at Vietnamese booths Five Vietnamese travel companies are currently participating in the 26th edition of SATTE, South Asia’s leading travel show, in India’s Uttar Pradesh state from January 16-18. Vietnam Airlines receives first Airbus A321neo plane The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has received its first Airbus A321neo from US-based Aviation Capital Group (ACG) in Hamburg, Germany earlier this week. The new aircraft will be used for domestic flights and routes connecting destinations in Southeast Asia. It is among the 20 new-generation A321neo planes the airline plans to lease from the ACG, ICBC Leasing of China, and US-based Air Lease Corporation (ALC), expected to be fully delivered by the end of 2019. These planes will help expand its aircraft fleet to about 110 in 2020. Khanh T. Tran, president and CEO of ACG, expressed his delight at the delivery and stressed the company looks forward to Vietnam Airlines operating these highly fuel-efficient aircraft in their growing route network. Vietnamese food introduced in Hong Kong Visitors to the seventh Hong Kong Food Carnival, which is underway in Kwai Tsing district, Hong Kong (China), have shown interest in Vietnamese food. Products such as dried rice vermicelli, fish sauce, cashew nuts, dried longan and coffee have been introduced by Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) and Hello-5 JSC. Of note, King Cashew Nut Ltd., Co. which represents Hapro in Hong Kong, has worked with the Vietnamese association in Hong Kong to open a booth featuring Vietnamese dishes at the event. Apart from Vietnam, the Southeast Asia section within the carnival also includes booths set up by Thailand and Malaysia. During the carnival, from October 27 to November 4, participating countries and territories are also putting on traditional art performances.
