Dengue fever incidence rises sharply in Hanoi
According to the city Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), they were reported in 26 out of the city’s 29 districts. So far this year Hanoi has reported 608 cases, or double the number in the same period last year. There have been no deaths. Thanh Nhan General Hospital in Hai Ba Trung District has been admitting around 10 patients a day and Dong Da General Hospital in Dong Da District, five to seven. The CDC said the number of cases would continue to rise in the coming weeks since it is the rainy season in the north. Since dengue is mosquito-borne, stagnant water during the rainy season in which mosquito larvae breed means the disease normally peaks then. Experts from the CDC have warned people to closely monitor their health since influenza A and Covid-19 also currently pose threats in Hanoi. The three diseases have several similar symptoms, and people should get themselves checked if they have fever of 39-40 degrees Celsius, severe headache, muscle pain, and … [Read more...] about Dengue fever incidence rises sharply in Hanoi

Lam Son, a Hanoian, first learned about the nomadic lifestyle after watching American movies depicting mobile homes parked in the middle of vast valleys. This was the source of inspiration for the Vietnamese YouTuber to set out on his first road trip in a mobile home with his family a couple of years ago. Son converted his old Mercedes Sprinter into a mobile home fully equipped with essential items for long-haul road trips. “This was originally a van. When traveling, my family members sit in the driver’s cabin full of safety equipment. We only use the renovated part on the back of the vehicle at rest stops or campgrounds,” the 35-year-old said. Since he renovated his first mobile home, the Son family has traveled to many parts of Vietnam on the vehicle, bringing exhilarating experiences to their two children. He expects the road trips will make their childhood more colorful and help them unplug from screens to fully experience van life. Although the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has directed relevant departments, branches, districts, as well as Thu Duc City authorities to coordinate and consider proposals to resolve many pending issues, it seems that it is still very difficult to follow up on projects without amending the Laws. Shortcomings in Land Law After ten years of taking effect, the 2013 Land Law still shows many shortcomings, especially in the auction of land use rights. Regulations on the auction of land use rights are stipulated in many documents of various Laws, Government decrees, decisions of the Prime Minister, joint circulars between ministries and … [Read more...] about Laws need amending for real estate projects
