The event was chaired by Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, UNISFA Force Commander and Acting Head of Mission. The highlight of the ceremony was the parade of eight units, namely the Vietnamese Engineering Company Rotation 1, the infantry battalions of India, Ghana, Pakistan, Bangladesh, units from Nigeria and Nepal, and the Chinese Helicopter Unit. At the event, the Mission’s chain-of-command and leaders laid wreath in commemoration of U.N. peacekeepers who had sacrificed their lives while implementing their duties. Sun Taxi inks deal with VinFast for 3,000 EVs
Sun Taxi Joint Stock Company on Thursday entered into a deal with Vietnamese carmaker VinFast to order 3,000 VF 5 Plus electric cars to offer taxi services using electric vehicles (EVs), aside from the former’s current fleet of fuel-powered units. The move is part of Sun Taxi’s strategy on green transition, business expansion, and service quality enhancement, thereby promoting the switch to green transport and supporting Vietnam’s ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Sun Taxi plans to first launch electric taxi services in some central and Central Highlands provinces and cities in the country such as Quang Binh, Hue, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum. The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) rose 0.3 per cent, to close the day at 1,078.39 points. The breadth of the market was in positive territory, with 236 stocks up while 164 traded lower. During the session, investors poured over VND13.9 trillion (US$591.8 million) into the southern market, equivalent to a trading volume of more than 856.8 million shares. The 30 biggest stocks tracker VN30-Index also closed higher at 1,068.09 points, up 0.17 per cent. Fifteen ticker symbols of the VN30 basket climbed, while 11 went down and four ended flat.
