Hanoi is known to have more rivers, lakes, ponds, and lagoons than any other city in Vietnam, acting as natural air conditioners to maintain a balanced ecology or being the city's green lung. 30% of industrial parks in Hanoi have centralized wastewater treatment plants
The Department of Construction has launched an invitation for tender on public contracts in sewerage and water treatment equipment and services in 2019. Hanoi’s recent review on rental land and environmental protection at some industrial parks in Hanoi showed that just 21 among a total of 70 industrial parks, or 30%, operating in the city have installed centralized sewerage treatment plants, the Government Portal reported. Of them, nine industrial clusters have water treatment plants built with investors’ private funding and the 12 remaining were installed with public funding in accordance with the decision of the municipal People's Committee. Hanoi mayor urges speedier construction of wastewater treatment plant
Hanoi’s wastewater treatment site is a key and vital project as it would collect and purify sewage discharged by people in seven districts. Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has asked contractors to speed up the construction of Yen Xa wastewater treatment site in Thanh Tri districtto help clean the once iconic To Lich river and better lives of citizens along the river. Speaking at the ceremony, Dang Quoc Van, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, acknowledged that the sets of lithophone hold precious musical values, presenting cultural life of ethnic groups in the province. After the reception, the sets were handed over to the provincial museum for display and further preservation. Besides, the museum will study and compile a dossier to recognize the instruments as national treasures. In 1977, in Doc Gao (To Hap, Khanh Son district), a man named Bo Bo Ren discovered 12 pieces of stones in different sizes and shapes which could produce musical notes when hit. Afterwards, archaeologists unearthed and discovered more tools used to make lithophone, stone axes, stone hammers, etc. Based on the artifacts discovered, they concluded that the set of lithophone dated from 2,000 to 5,000 years ago. Vietnam sees surge in foreign tourists
Vietnam attracted 2.7 million foreign tourists in the first quarter of this year, representing an on-year rise of 29.7 times. According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), Vietnam welcomed 895,400 foreign arrivals in March, raising the country’s total number of foreign visitors to 2.7 million. However, the figure only accounted for 60 percent of the first quarter of 2019 pre-Covid-19-pandemic. Foreign tourists in Vietnam Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy, said the number of foreign travellers to Vietnam was on the rise.
