Since being released on Netflix on March 23, "Furies" has been quite successful. According to statistics from video-on-demand tracking site FlixPatrol, "Furies" is currently fifth among the most-watched movies on Netflix this week. It is also staying firm at the top of trending movies on Netflix Vietnam. Van wrote on her Facebook: "‘Furies’ has been in the top 10 of many countries and today it officially made it to the top five worldwide." In late 2022, Ngo Thanh Van, also known as Veronica Ngo, released "Furies" to domestic theaters. The big-budget and star-studded film was released on Christmas but didn’t do well as it only grossed VND25 billion ($1.05 million) at the box office. The unexpected flop of the action film was a big shock for Van and film critics. Releasing "Furies" on Netflix is considered Van’s attempt to save the movie, as she hopes it will reach a broader audience and restore her motivation to keep making movies. Her previous work "Hai Phuong" (Furie) was … [Read more...] about Vietnamese action drama among five most-watched films on Netflix this week

Motherhood during teenage, the travails
Growing up in a family of two girls in a town in Kon Tum province, and with both parents being government employees, she only needed to study without having to worry about anything else in life. "When I found out I was pregnant, everything changed," recalls the now 26-year-old. Her boyfriend was three years older but equally naive. Neither of them dared tell anyone. By the fourth month, her family knew her pregnancy when she couldn’t hide it anymore. Then, the girl dropped out of school in 11th grade. When her friends were in grade 12, she had to deliver and take care of her child. She returned to school a year later. In the morning, instead of waking up close to school time like most children, she would wake up at 5 a.m., change diapers, make milk for her son, ask her mother-in-law to babysit him, and leave for school. At noon the young mother would take time to breastfeed her baby before going back to school. If her child became sick, she would stay up all night to look … [Read more...] about Motherhood during teenage, the travails

Britain agrees to join trans-Pacific trade pact
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said Britain had agreed to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), in a move his office said was the biggest trade deal since Brexit.
