Recently, Hanoi has held a meeting with departments and People's Committee of districts on the implementation of the waste treatment projects. Thereby, the city prioritized agencies for those units using advanced waste treatment technology. Currently, the city is now giving priorities to units who provide their capital in advance, especially those units have many patents related to waste treatment andexperienced and reputable ones. Accordingly, the city will conduct a public bidding for contractors selection. City leaders ask relevant agencies to complete the city's plan for sewage and garbage treatment. In the future, it is necessary to apply high-tech advances in Vietnam as well in the world in this field. In addition, the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment should guide and control the districts handling the waste treatment as semi aerobic landfill, known as Fukuoka method. On the other hand, it needs toreview and study the collection systems of some large … [Read more...] about Hanoi prioritizes projects using advanced waste treatment technology

New waste treatment technology creates cheap consumer energy (24-01-2007) HCM CITY — The US-based Asia Biogas Limited plans to introduce state-of-the-art waste treatment technology that will provide low-cost energy to local industries and consumers. "We hope to bring to Viet Nam new technology which can not only help to protect the environment, but also create a source of cheap energy," David Donnelly, managing director of the company, said at a seminar last week held by the US Consulate's Commercial Service in HCM City. The anaerobic digestion technology, Donnelly said, would lead to lower energy prices, at least 20 per cent compared with the market price. The company would also set a ceiling for its selling price so customer costs would remain stable during global price fluctuations, he said. Among the company's potential buyers in Viet Nam are breweries, large farms, slaughterhouses, seafood processing plants and paper mills. Total capital to be invested in the Vietnamese … [Read more...] about New waste treatment technology creates cheap consumer energy
According to the current statistics, the total solid waste in Vietnamis about 12.8 million tons per year, in which urban solid waste accounts for 54% which is equivalent to 6.9 million per year.It is estimated that the total urban solid waste to 2020 will be about 22 million tons a year. However, the waste treatment still causes serious environmental pollution because of backward technology. An urgent demand in Vietnam is to find out suitable treatment technology, especially in recycling or reusing waste in order to exploit the economic benefits from waste and avoid landfill. Currently, in Vietnam many solid waste treatment technologies have been applied such as landfill, recycling, processing organic waste into energy, solid waste combustion, seraphin technology and waste processing MBT-CD.08. Of them, many technologies have been demonstrated its effective like MBT CD.08 waste treatment technology in Song Cong - Thai Nguyen waste treatment plant. This technology is able to process … [Read more...] about Vietnam looks for suitable solid waste treatment technology
In the near future, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) will build a power-generation plant which uses industrial waste to generate electricity in Dongnai province. With the aim of advertising the technology used in this project, in the afternoon of September 18 2006 at the Department of Science and Technology of Dongnai province, Mr. Shimomura, Director of the representative office of Ebara Corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, introduced the industrial waste treatment technology to Dongnai province. Ebara Corporation is one of the leading manufacturers of pump system and water treatment. In addition, Ebara is the leading manufacturer in the field of environment as well as generating power from waste. The inner pyrolytic melting incinerator is the key machine in the power generation plant which uses industrial waste to generate electricity. This incinerator has outstanding advantages such as: it has high capacity for destructing waste; it can use … [Read more...] about Japanese Ebara Corporation introduces industrial waste treatment technology to Dongnai province.
