Two night markets have been opened in Nha Trang City, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam, wooing throngs of visitors. The provincial administration on Tuesday night put into operation the two night markets at Children’s Park and Yen Phi Park in Xuan Huan Ward. The night markets will operate until Thursday next week. The markets house dozens of stalls to sell the province’s distinctive products and foods. Despite downpours on Tuesday night, many tourists and locals were eager to visit the night markets. Thu Tra, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that the night markets were attractive. She bought some souvenirs and the province’s specialties. “The scale of the night markets remains modest. Vietnam’s appeal proves strong for Korean visitors
More and more Korean tourists are flocking to Vietnam Hanoi (VNA) – Attractive theme parks, stunning paradise-like beaches, and the highest peak in Indochina are just some of the reasons why more and more Korean tourists are flocking to Vietnam, accounting for up to 30% of the total foreign arrivals in the first seven months of this year. During the period, the Republic of Korea was the biggest source of tourists to Vietnam with over 1.9 million, reported the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. Vietnam expects to welcome 13 million foreign visitors this year
The proposal is based on positive signs in September as the country welcomed more than 1.05 million foreign visitors , marking the third consecutive month the figure has surpassed the one million mark. In the first nine months of this year, the tourism industry served 8.9 million foreign holidaymakers, and 93.5 million domestic tourists, pocketing over 22 billion USD, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. The Republic of Korea (RoK) remained the biggest source of tourists to Vietnam in the nine-month period with nearly 2.6 million, followed by China and Taiwan (China). In Europe, the UK, France and Germany were the biggest markets for Vietnam’s tourism. Thailand’s ancient town of Si Thep added to world heritage list
The site in Phetchabun province - some 200 kilometers (120 miles) north of Bangkok - is Thailand's first cultural site to be recognized by UNESCO since 1992. Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin thanked the UN cultural body for the decision but an expert warned the complex is not ready for an influx of tourists. Archaeologists date the statues and buildings of Si Thep, built by the Dvaravati civilisation, to between 1,500 and 1,700 years ago. At its peak the town was a thriving cultural and trading metropolis that celebrated Hindu and Buddhist beliefs. The decision was announced by UNESCO at a meeting in Riyadh, and in a prepared video message, Srettha thanked delegates for the listing.
