Swedish crown princess spends day in Ho Chi Minh City
Crown Princess of Sweden Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree had a busy agenda in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, as part of her three-day official visit to Vietnam. Crown Princess Victoria, her spouse, and a delegation of high-ranking Swedish officials arrived in the southern Vietnamese metropolis that morning to begin the last day of her Vietnam visit, which ran from May 6 to 8. The crown princess spent more than an hour touring the Saigon River, meant as an excursion to highlight issues relating to the city’s drainage system. European businesses positive about Vietnam’s prospects for green growth
The Business Climate Index is the leading indicator of the European business and investment community in Vietnam. European businesses in Vietnam expressed their positiveness about Vietnam’s prospects for green growth, according to the latest Business Climate Index (BCI) released by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and YouGov Vietnam. HCMC hopes for stronger ties with Germany’s Frankfurt city

Binh Phuoc posts nearly USD 700 million in H1 trade surplus
The administration said thanks to proactive moves to ensure material supply for manufacturing and diversify export markets, local businesses have maintained the strong recovery trend and enjoyed good exports growth. They exported over USD 1.95 billion worth of goods in H1, rising 23.26% from a year earlier and equivalent to 50.74% of this year’s target. Meanwhile, the import turnover stood at USD 1.26 billion. Two Vietnamese tricked to work in Cambodia rescued
Puih Phu, 16, and Puih Thai, 28, were taken back home in La Grai District of Gia Lai Province in the Central Highlands on Sunday. Early this year, they got in touch with Tran Quang Quyet, 21, a native of the region’s Kon Tum Province, on Facebook. Quyet offered to help them get decent jobs with high salaries in Cambodia. However, once they arrived in Cambodia, they were forced to do all the hard work while their employers frequently beat them with rods and power cables. They were also threatened to be sold away or killed. Struggling to survive, Puih Thai asked to be sent home. The people who had tricked and sold him to Cambodia requested him to contact his family and pay bail of VND90 million ($3,854). According to a scientific brief released by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March, the global prevalence of anxiety and depression significantly increased by 25 per cent in the first year of the pandemic. In pre-pandemic Vietnam, according to the statistics published by the Institute of Mental Health under the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital, 30 per cent of the population was diagnosed with various mental health issues, while 25 per cent was related to depression and 15 per cent were caused by stress disorders. Despite close to one in three people being aware of their conditions, only a few sought medical attention. From the above statistics, the mental health of a large population has been heavily affected by the pandemic. Mother drowns, child remains missing at Ha Tinh beach
A woman has drowned while her 13-year-old child remains missing after being caught in a rip current at Thien Cam beach in the central province of Ha Tinh on Monday morning. Rescue forces look for the missing visitors at Thien Cam Beach on July 4 According to a report by local authorities, a group of four visitors from Hanoi arrived at Thien Cam Beach to swim at 7.30 am on July 4.
