VinaCapital Group will increase its capital in the Vietnam Opportunity Fund (VOF) by 300 million USD to invest in large corporations and strong state-owned companies which are going to be privatized, namely the Vietnam Electricity Corporation or the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank). According to VinaCapital, investors registered 400 million USD for VOF in the 6th capitalization mobilization, a four-fold increase compared to its initial plan. However, depending on the investment plan in the coming time, VOF's board of directors decided to receive more than 300 million USD, raising its total pure assets to nearly 600 million USD. VOF will issue nearly 127 million in normal stocks, worth more than 304 million USD, with a nominal value of 2.38 USD per stock.
