Vietnam remains third largest seafood supplier to RoK
Vietnam remained the third largest seafood supplier to the Republic of Korea (RoK) last year with the country’s seafood market share as part of the RoK’s total imports reaching 10.2%, according to statistics released by the Korea Customs Service. Last year witnessed Vietnam spend US$6.47 billion on importing 1,595 million tonnes of seafood from 109 markets, duly representing a rise of 3.9% in volume and 12.7% in value compared to 2021’s figures. Vietnam remained the third largest seafood supplier to the Republic of Korea last year The RoK mainly increased seafood imports from Russia and Vietnam, while reducing seafood imports from markets such as Norway, the United States, and Peru. Can ward police fine traffic violators in Vietnam?
A reader of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper recalled seeing a group of ward police officers set up a checkpoint in front of their headquarters in Hanoi and book commuters for their traffic violations. There were no traffic police at the time, and traffic violators were requested to pull over and enter the police headquarters, the reader stated, asking whether or not ward police are authorized to deal with traffic offenses. Under Article 11 of Circular No. 12/2010, ward- and commune-level police are responsible for coordinating with the traffic police force in performing the task of ensuring traffic order and safety in their locale. This must comply with the provisions of the law and the guidance of higher-level police units. Article 3 of Decree No. 27/2010 stipulates ward and commune police are only mobilized to coordinate with traffic police in necessary cases, and the mobilization must be decided in writing by a designated person. The 2019 ASEAN Tourism Forum Travel Exchange (Travex), which will be held in Quang Ninh province on January 16 - 18, 2019. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has called for local travel agents’ registration for Travex 2019.
