Vietnam and Bangladesah have ample room for achieving stronger growth in their bilateral trade cooperation, as the two countries share many things in common, including being emerging economies with stable development, having large populations, markets, and sufficient human resources. In addition, a huge number of young people in the two countries are able to quickly embrace advanced technology and innovation trends, said Pham Viet Chien, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bangladesh, the Vietnam News Agency reported. Vietnamese province halts foreign firms’ partnerships with 328 farms over environmental issues
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam has written to four foreign-invested firms asking them to suspend cooperation agreements with 328 livestock farms as these farms have no certificates of completion of environmental protection works. Previously, the department, in collaboration with relevant agencies and local authorities, conducted inspections to assess the adherence to legal requirements for environmental protection by nearly 10,000 livestock farms and poultry facilities in the province. The four-month comprehensive review of documents and on-site inspections resulted in the discovery of 328 pig and chicken farming operations across 10 out of 11 districts and cities, excluding Bien Hoa City, holding livestock farming contracts with four foreign-invested enterprises without the necessary environmental permits.
