Storm MULAN heads toward northern Vietnam
A tropical low depression on August 9 strengthened into a tropical storm named MULAN which is travelling towards the northern coast of Vietnam, according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting. At 01pm on August 9, MULAN was located nar the northern part of the Hoang Sa archipelago of Vietnam, approximately 300km south east of China’s Hainan island. It was packing winds of between 62 and 74kph nears its eye. In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move north and change its course into north-west at a speed of 15-20kph. In the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm is anticipated to travel west and north-west at a speed of 15kph and weaken into a tropical low depression. Vietnam Summer Camp 2022 wraps up in Ba Ria – Vung Tau
Addressing the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Ngoc Khanh said nearly 20,000 people from Ba Ria - Vung Tau are living in over 50 countries and territories worldwide, mainly the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and ASEAN nations. He hoped the campers had great experiences with Vietnam and Ba Ria - Vung Tau and that they would become ambassadors promoting Vietnamese nature, culture and people to international friends. Khanh also wanted them to act as a bridge to strengthen the friendship and relations between Vietnam and their host countries and territories. The Moffatts visit Sa Pa, Phu Quoc, HCMC
The Moffatts, one of the most beloved boybands the 1990s and 2000s, performed at the HAY Glamping Music Festival in Hanoi last Saturday night. Thousands of fans stood in the rain for hours to cheer their idols. Bob and Clint, two members of the boyband, visited Sa Pa, around 320 kilometers from Hanoi, earlier this month and shot a music video there to promote tourism. They stayed at the Ville de Mont Mountain Resort, which stands 1,500 meters above sea level overlooking the Muong Hoa Valley and Ham Rong Mountain. Flight returns to Hanoi with sick Japanese passenger
A flight of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines had to return to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Monday while travelling to Japan to save a Japanese boy who suffered from severe nosebleeds. Around 1 hour and 45 minutes after leaving Noi Bai International Airport for Haneda in Japan, the 10-year-old boy suddenly had a nosebleed. Despite being given urgent care, the passenger’s condition did not improve as he experienced non-stop bleeding. As a precaution, the crew decided to return to Noi Bai to ensure medical assistance. A flight of Vietnam Airlines The boy was then taken to a hospital in Hanoi for treatment with support from Vietnam Airlines staff. His condition has improved and he has continued staying at the hospital to be monitored. He took the flight with his mother and sister. A drawing contest titled Travel with Muong Thanh - Dream Vacation is the opening programme for a series of activities commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of Muong Thanh Group.
