A group of young people in Saigon are offering a different perspective on the city with their two-wheeled tours. Founded by Vo Hoang Phuc, Saigon Morning Ride has so far led about 100 tours across Saigon, the former name of Ho Chi Minh City but still popularly used now. “The more [tours] we do, the more interesting things we find in Saigon. Who said there was nothing exciting in Saigon?” Phuc said. Though Phuc believes it to be a shame that so few people are aware of all the interesting things to do in the city, he hopes to offer insights into Saigon’s hidden gems with tours of the city’s alleys, ancient tombs, rice roads, graffiti, Oc Eo Relic, and nighttime haunts. Vietnamese doctors gain Cambodian people’s trust

A female patient had arrived in the emergency room in a state of confusion. She had trouble speaking and paralysis on the right side of the body. After examination and the necessary tests, doctors diagnosed the patient as suffering a stroke caused by atrial fibrillation and tachy-brady syndrome. After consultation, it was decided the patient needed a permanent pacemaker. The surgery was performed that night. It was incredibly successful. The patient was in stable health condition and discharged from the hospital four days later, to the joy of family and relatives. Workshop seeks to promote responsible tourism and wildlife conservation
The event, which was organized by World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam in coordination with Hanoi’s Department of Tourism and Hanoi Tourism Association, aims to provide knowledge about responsible tourism and wildlife conservation for 150 tour guides and travel operators. Vietnam currently has 33 national parks, 57 nature reserves, 13 habitat conservation areas, 53 landscape protection zones and 9 biosphere reserves. Participants were provided with information that was expected to help identify risks related to brokering and trading wildlife products. Some good models and lessons on responsible tourism associated with nature and wildlife preservation in the world and Vietnam were also shared at the workshop, thereby helping to change travelers’ behaviors and refrain from buying or selling products from endangered species.
