(Photo: VNA) Quang Ngai (VNA) – The central coastal province of Quang Ngai has mobilised its entire political system in the fight against the illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and reaped significant results in this regard. As of September 2023, the locality counted 4,292 fishing vessels, of them 3,127 measuring 15 metres and above in length, along with about 38,000 labourers working at sea, according to Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ho Trong Phuong. Shooter Pham Quang Huy grabbed Vietnam’s first gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in the men’s 10-meter air pistol event on Thursday. Huy achieved an impressive score of 240.5 points in the final, securing the top position on the podium. Lee Wonho of South Korea took silver with 239.4 points, while Vladimir Svechnikov of Uzbekistan earned bronze with 219.9 points. Hanoi households, businesses rush to install escape ladders outside buildings
Many households and businesses in Hanoi have raced to equip escape ladders outside their high-rise buildings following a fatal apartment block inferno that killed 56 people in the capital earlier this month. These escape ladders come in all types and sizes, but most of them are made from metal. The owners of buildings with enough spaces have equipped them with spiral ladders, while vertical ladders have been installed outside some others. Some ladders have even encroached on sidewallk areas.
