Vietnam to attend ASEM Cultural Festival 2021 Vietnam and 10 other countries have signed up to participate in the ASEM Cultural Festival (#ASEMfest), a side event of the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be hosted by Cambodia in November. The ASEM Cultural Festival 2021 is scheduled to get underway between November 22 and 26. This international cultural event will be held virtually with the main activities such as performing arts, and the screening of feature films and documentaries, as well as the exhibition which would be held in hybrid format at the National Museum of Cambodia. The festival aims to explore the cultural diversity and promote the exchange, cooperation and artistic creation between the cultures of both regions, contributing to enhancing cooperation and development between the ASEM partner countries. HCM City under pressure to reopen economy: municipal leader Residents at a vaccination site in HCM City. Ho Chi Minh City is committed to enforcing vigilant pandemic prevention measures when it reopens the economy after months of strict lockdown measures, said a city leader. Speaking at a meeting with economic and medical experts last earlier this week, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen said: “The city is under huge pressure to reopen the economy or it will be too late.” The level of suffering of the economy and people has reached its limit due to prolonged lockdown measures. As such, the city will develop a roadmap for reopening so that it can adapt to and live safety with the virus, he said. Vietnam’s road network with 9,000 km of expressways announced
According to the national road network planning by 2050, Vietnam will have more than 9,000 km of expressways. The country aims to complete construction of about 5,000 km by 2030. Vietnam will have about 9,000 km of highways by 2050, The Ministry of Transport has published on its website the road network plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, which was approved by the Prime Minister on September 1. Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho said that the plan was prepared by the Ministry of Transport based on extensive consultation with 63 provinces and cities, 16 ministries and ministerial-level agencies and relevant organizations. Under this plan, a system of expressways connecting economic and political centers, key economic regions, seaports and international airports will be formed. Hà Nội to remove travel permits and loosen social distancing restrictions

The singer's nephew Thảo An shared, the family is waiting for the cremation procedure to receive his ashes. Tuyn had a history of high blood pressure, treated COVID-19 at the field hospital No 13 in mid-August, then transferred to Chợ Rẫy hospital on September. In the first two weeks, he was in good health, can communicate with people via text messages. However, the situation worsened, he had to breathe with an ECMO machine. The 12.5km line, which is part of the Hà Nội Urban Railway Metro (HURM) project, was approved in April 2019. During seven years from 2009 to 2016, the project was at a standstill due to slow progress of ground clearance. In December 2018, the then Prime Minister issued a decision extending the project deadline until 2022. The construction of 4-km underground section with four stations from Kim Mã Street in Ba Đình District to Hà Nội Railway Station in Hoàn Kiếm District is sluggish. Compared to Sunday, the amount of new infections dropped by 1,357. The total number of coronavirus patients now stands at 695,744. There were also a further 215 deaths, taking the total amount of fatalities to 17,305. HCM City recorded the highest number of infections with 5,171, followed by Bình Dương (1,410), Đồng Nai (869), Long An (268) and Tiền Giang (211). Because of the rising number of shippers registering with the city following a new regulation, the city has been struggling testing all of them. – VNA Photo HCM CITY – HCM City is struggling providing COVID-19 tests to local shippers as the number of shippers registered with the city’s Department of Industry and Trade has soared over the last few days. Since September 16, shippers have been allowed to deliver goods across districts from 6am to 9pm every day, but they have to be pool tested for COVID-19 once every two days, with fees paid for by HCM City's budget. The city recently stopped limiting the number of shippers of each delivery service allowed on the road. Nguyễn Nguyên Phương, deputy director of the department, said the number of shippers allowed to travel outside had risen to over 82,100 as of September 19, compared to 20,000 before September 17.
