Diplomat advises Vietnamese candidates on how to win UK’s Chevening scholarships
A British diplomat shared with young Vietnamese last weekend what he thought to be the key to winning a prestigious scholarship offered by the UK government, pointing out some of the candidates’ misunderstandings. British Consul General Ian Gibbons said on the sidelines of the ‘Leader from Below’ workshop, organized by the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on January 12, that Vietnamese candidates tend not to fully understand what Chevening looks for in its two main requirements: leadership and influencing skills. Chevening is the UK government's international awards scheme. It is understood that applicants have to have two main qualities: leadership and influencing skills. ICT contest in HCMC honors practical ideas for smart city development
This year’s HCMC ICT Contest is themed ‘Journey to a Smart City’ and was launched in August 2019. Until October 31, 2019, it received 65 papers, which were carefully evaluated in November for the awards ceremony to be held in December 2019. Many of these papers are from state organizations and in the fields of digital transformation, Internet of Things, smart operation, and practical applications for citizens. European stocks surge on Johnson election triumph, US trade deal
London stocks and the British pound jumped Friday after an election triumph for Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson that analysts said will bring clarity to Brexit proceedings and unlock stronger economic growth.
