Many ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of other countries in Vietnam cycled around Hanoi on Saturday as part of the ASEAN Family Day 2022, which was held on the occasion of the bloc’s 55th anniversary. The ASEAN Family Day 2022 was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ASEAN Women's Circle of Hanoi (AWCH) on the accassion of the 55th founding anniversary of ASEAN and 27 years of Vietnam's membership in the bloc. ASEAN, short for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is a political and economic organization whose members include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. 8 injured as car crashes into gas station in Hanoi
The incident happened at around 10:20 p.m. at the station on Lang Street when there were at least 15 customers at the place. An employee said: "The car knocked down five motorbikes and stopped after hitting a pump. At least eight people were injured, two of them passed out." The car hit the pump hard enough to cause it to tilt sharply, but thankfully no damage involving fuel occurred. Angry people tried to assault the car driver but were stopped by the staff. The victims have not been identified and their condition is not known. The car driver, Ngo Cong Han, 35, has been detained by the police. Han told the police that he had some beer right before the incident. He was driving around one km from the restaurant when he crashed into the gas station. Vietnam’s diplomatic activism in ASEAN reflects its status as an emerging middle power. This year marks the 27th anniversary of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership. Accession into ASEAN in 1995 provided Vietnam with a springboard to pursue international integration, attract external resources for economic development, and expand its diplomatic networks. Hanoi university student crowned first Miss World Vietnam

A 19-year-old college student from the northeastern province of Cao Bang was crowned the new Miss World Vietnam 2019 after beating out 39 beauty contestants in the pageant finale on Saturday night, becoming the first Vietnamese woman to clinch such a title. Luong Thuy Linh, born in 2000 in Cao Bang, was declared Miss World Vietnam in the finale in the central city of Da Nang, a victory allowing her to represent Vietnam at the oldest-running global beauty contest Miss World in the UK this December. Two other young women, Nguyen Ha Kieu Loan and Nguyen Tuong San, claimed the first and second runner-up titles and will represent Vietnam in Miss Grand 2019 in Venezuela and Miss Intercontinental 2019 in India later this year, respectively. South Korean singer Joseph Kwon on Wednesday released his latest music video – an ode to popular tourist attractions across Vietnam in commemoration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea. 92 old architecture works in Hanoi to be conserved
An old architecture work in Hanoi (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Department of Construction, Planning and Architecture of Hanoi has announced a plan to preserve 92 unique architectural works in the city. This will include 30 works managed by the municipal administration, 50 State-managed architectures, and 12 built before 1954. Under the plan, relevant agencies will be responsible for planning conservation and embellishment of architectural works; and building projects for managing, evaluating and verifying the quality of those to submit to the municipal People's Committee. The municipal administration will continue to guide the districts to maintain, renovate and repair a number of old architectural works built before 1954.
