Police in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam are investigating a man after discovering the body of a dead tiger and unidentified animal bones in a freezer at his house. Police officers on Saturday said they had seized a tiger carcass weighing 160 kilograms and 34 kilograms of unknown animal bones stored in a freezer at the residence of Nguyen Van Chung in Huong Son District two days before. A criminal investigation has been launched to clarify Chung’s “violation of regulations on the protection of endangered, precious, and rare wildlife species,” police said. Chung, 42, told investigators that in December 2020 he met a man named Viet, a truck driver, at local eatery and then invited him home. Viet asked Chung to keep for him a freezer containing animal carcasses that would be processed into bone glue. The driver promised to pay him some amount after the glue was sold. Investors have been working frantically to get their projects finished on time, but even if they can put plants into operation before October 31, they will still face other problems. According to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), as of early August, 106 wind power plants with total capacity of 5,655MW had registered to connect to the national grid and asked for COD (commercial operation date) recognition. In August, several wind power plants got COD recognition, including the second phase of Hoa Binh 1 (15.2MW), Ninh Thuan No 5 (21MW), 7A (12.6MW). These are all small-capacity projects with total capacity of approximately 50MW. By the end of August, only 24 wind power plants with total capacity of 963MW had become commercially operational, a small figure compared with the registered 106 plants and total capacity of 5,600MW. A makeshift sales location of Hanoi-based bakery Bao Phuong, whose mooncakes are highly sought after during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam, saw long queues of buyers in front of them at as early as 4:00 am on Sunday. A top-of-mind choice for Hanoi residents when it comes to mooncakes -- a sweet treat commonly eaten to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, falling on Tuesday next week -- Bao Phuong stores in Tay Ho District usually draws in huge crowds in the run-up to the festival. The proposal is contained in a socio-economic recovery plan that the town is expected to submit to the provincial administration next Tuesday. If the Ba Ria-Vung Tau People's Committee approves the proposal, Vung Tau's gradual reopening process would happen in four phases. In the first phase that will last the end of September, low-risk wards in the town would relax certain restrictions on travel and business operations, like allowing traditional markets to reopen, but only selling essential goods. The second phase, to last for all of October, would allow businesses and families who produce, process and sell food products, food takeaway services and veterinarian and agricultural facilities, among others, to operate between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. every day. Uniqlo suppliers are experiencing COVID-19 disruptions in Vietnam According to the announcement of Fast Retailing, Uniqlo's parent business, a number of goods in its "Uniqlo U" collection that were supposed to be published in September and October had been postponed. The four new items were due to be released across Uniqlo’s home market in Japan, as reported by Reuters . The Japanese retailer outsources all products to its partner factories overseas. Among them, Vietnam is one of the group's key production countries in Asia. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most clothing manufacturers in Vietnam are currently overburdened with orders, yet they are experiencing labour shortages to meet the delivery schedule, particularly in virus-hit localities.
