Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen held a reception for newly-appointed Cambodian Consul General Chan Sorykan on Wednesday. Sorykan took the position in Ho Chi Minh City on April 11. Speaking at the reception, Sorykan expressed his gratitude to city authorities for creating favorable conditions for Cambodian firms to do business and Cambodian students to study in Vietnam. Two-way trade between Vietnam and Cambodia reached VND235 trillion (US$10 billion) in 2022, Sorykan said, adding that the impressive figure has contributed to fostering bilateral ties and backing the partnership between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam to have first virtual reality light park
A virtual reality light theme park will be developed in Ngu Hanh Son District of Da Nang City in central Vietnam based on South Korean technology, making it the first of its kind in the Southeast Asian nation. The park will be situated in a 60,000-square-meter ancient pine forest in a tourist area in the district. Ho Chi Minh City-based travel company Ben Thanh Tourist signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of the park with two South Korean partners on Tuesday. The unique park is aimed at making tourism products in Da Nang, which is one of Vietnam’s popular destinations, more abundant. Vietjet launches first direct air route between Vietnam and Hiroshima
Budget airline Vietjet has announced the launch of a direct air route connecting Vietnam and Hiroshima, Japan, making it the first direct route of a Vietnamese airline between the two destinations. This is Vietjet’s eighth air route linking the two countries. There will be two return flights per week, starting from July 19. The Italian-flagged passenger cruise vessel Costa Serena brought more than 2,600 international guests to Phu Quoc, a popular island destination in southern Vietnam, on Sunday morning. This is the first five-star cruise to return to Phu Quoc City, which is an island off Kien Giang Province, after a long suspension induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
