Vietnam introduces real combat training system on cybersecurity
Vietnam Cyber Range (VCR), a system for practical training and testing of cybersecurity personnel, was officially launched on Tuesday. Developed by Vietnamese cybersecurity corporation Bkav, the system creates a realistic training environment and provides real combat drills to help those working in cybersecurity improve professional skills. Vietnam is lacking in personnel with expertise and experience in cyberinformation security, according to the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA). About 50 percent of agencies and organizations in Vietnam do not have ready forces and standard operating procedures to respond to cyberinformation security incidents, VNISA estimated. Vietnam has made great strides in improving its living standard as it jumped 39 notches in the global quality of life index rankings in 2021, revealed CEOWORLD, the world’s leading business and trade magazine. Vietnam has greatly improved its living standards as it jumped 39 places to become the 62nd-best country worldwide for quality of life in 2021, according to a report by CEOWORLD . The Southeast Asian nation earned 78.49 points, ranking 62nd out of 165 countries and territories, registering a sharp improvement from its 101st position among 171 countries in 2020. It ranked seventh in the region, while Singapore took the lead with 87.64 points, followed by Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Singapore also held the 19th position in the global rankings. After suffering severe burns across his face as a child, Ngo Quy Hai, a 27-year-old from Vietnam’s Central Highlands, has managed to shed the physical and emotional burden of his injury and become the successful owner of Sunhouse Coffee – a well-known pastry shop in Plei Kan Town, Ngoc Hoi District, Kon Tum Province. Hai burned his face when he was just a few months old after falling out of a walker and landing face first on a boiling pot of porridge. His parents rushed him to Children’s Hospital No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City where he received medical treatment for almost two years. Rescuer combats flood to save over 100 students in northern Vietnam
A disaster rescue officer managed to handle a serious flooding situation to take more than 100 students stranded at an isolated school to safety in the northern Vietnamese province of Tuyen Quang on Wednesday. A heavy rain submerged 38 houses and a large area of crops in water and swept nine buffaloes away in Tuyen Quang’s Lam Binh District in the small hours of that day, according to the committee for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue of Lam Binh District. The premises of Lam Binh Ethnic Minority Boarding Middle School and Lam Binh High School, which are located in a low area near a stream, were most affected and deep under water. Tourism authorities in An Giang Province are exploring ways to include trekking in the Bay Nui Mountain region – a new hotspot for trekkers from across Vietnam – in its tourism strategy. Bay Nui (Seven Mountains) is a range of small mountains located in Tri Ton and Tinh Bien Districts, An Giang Province, near the border with Cambodia. At 716 meters above sea level and 7,500 meters in diameter, Cam Mountain is the largest in the Bay Nui mountain range. The Cam Mountain Tourist Site Management Board and the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center are working together to develop and test sports tourism in the Bay Nui area, which they hope will attract visitors looking for tours that involve walking, sightseeing, and enjoying local cuisine.
