Ho Chi Minh City may start its transition to zero-emission public transportation in the outlying district of Can Gio, where the city seeks to achieve the 100-percent adoption and usage of electric vehicles (EV), said a local transport official. At its ongoing fifth session on Tuesday, the lawmaking National Assembly was discussing a draft resolution on pilot special mechanisms and policies for the development of the southern city. Vietnam’s dried and canned fish exports experienced an increase in revenue, despite the downturn in the overall seafood products in January-May, according to the most recent data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The ministry’s figures showed that seafood exports amounted to US$3.47 billion during the five-month period, indicating a decline of 25.9 percent over the same period last year. Falling imports from major markets such as the U.S., EU, China, and South Korea contributed to the overall drop. The most substantial decline was observed in the U.S. market, with a reduction of over 50 percent. Amidst the overall slump in seafood exports, dried fish and canned fish emerged as a positive aspect, exhibiting higher export turnover in comparison to the corresponding period in 2022. The condition often only hits the headlines after violent attacks by sufferers, such as a schizophrenic patient who stabbed a nurse to death last week in the French city of Reims. But French psychiatrist Sonia Dollfus emphasised that such cases of violence by people with schizophrenia are "extremely rare". "All the work done over the years trying to de-stigmatise this disease -- it is swept away in 24 hours," Dollfus told AFP . Around one in every 300 people worldwide are affected by schizophrenia, according to the World Health Organization.
