Plan on hosting the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 to be built
Deputy Defense Minister and head of the steering committee Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien chaired the event. The meeting announced the decision on the establishment of the steering committee for building a plan on hosting the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, emphasized the significance and necessity of organizing the expo, and proposed options of time, venue, and scale of the event. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and deputy head of the steering committee Sr. Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan said that the expo should be a place to educate people about national defense and security and bear both defense and economic meaning. Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 likely to be held in Tay Mo ward
Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that while leading a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense to conduct a field survey at Regiment 916, Division 371, the Air Defense - Air Force Service and of the construction site of the Vietnam Museum of Military History in Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district on May 26. The deputy defense minister said that Gia Lam and Hoa Lac Airports are two standby options. During the trip, the working delegation said that the venue for the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 should be large enough and not be too far from central Hanoi, so as to better serve delegates and visitors. 220-metre-long ao dai sets Guinness Vietnam Record
A 220.60-metre long, 250-kilos ao dai has just set a Guinness Vietnam Record for the longest ao dai in Vietnam. Designer Phuong Ho (second from right) receives Guinness Vietnam Record for her longest ao dai in Vietnam on May 25. According to Vietnamese fashion designer Phuong Ho, the Non Song Gam Voc (Beautiful Homeland) ao dai was made from brocade. It was completed within nearly two months by her team and 20 embroidery artists. "The flap, made from 31 pieces of brocade, features cultural and historic characteristics and landscapes of Vietnam and 3D images of lotus leaves," she said. “It is a great challenge for me and my team to complete the ao dai.” The work is recognised for helping to honour Vietnamese traditional costume, and introduce and promote Vietnam's landscapes. Boeing says will invest in aviation equipment supply chain in Vietnam
U.S. plane maker Boeing will boost its investment in the aircraft part supply chain in Vietnam, Steve Biegun, senior vice president of global public policy at The Boeing Company , told Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien on the sidelines of the 2023 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting in the United States, which wrapped up on Friday.
