Vietnam’s growth to rise by 6.5% in 2022: ICAEW
Vietnam has high regional growth prospects, predicted at more than 6.5% in 2022. (Infographic by Oxford Economics) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The economic recovery across the South-East Asian region has been uneven and must now contend with rising external headwinds from outside the region. Vietnam is predicted with a high growth prospect in the region, at more than 6.5% in 2022, 0.7% higher than the average growth of 5.8% for the whole region. This was a key finding from the Economic Forecast presented by the experts at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Economic Insight Forum Q2. Vietnam was able to bounce back relatively quickly in 2021 compared to the rest of the region. Two Indian Navy ships visit Ho Chi Minh City
One of the two Indian Navy ships visits Ho Chi Minh City Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Navy army welcomed the two Indian navy ships. The INS Sahyadri is the third ship of the P17 class of stealthy guided-missile destroyers. The ship was designed in-house by the Indian Navy's Design Institute and built by Mazagaon Dock Company in Mumbai. Commissioned on July 21, 2012, the ship features a range of tailored weapons sensors that enable it to operate effectively in high-threat environments. The ship's offensive and defensive weapon systems include long-range anti-ship/surface-to-surface missiles, medium- and short-range surface-to-air missiles, medium-range gun platforms, close-range weapons systems, and anti-torpedo submarines, anti-submarine missiles, and an advanced domestically manufactured sonar device to counter any threat from the ground, underwater or in the air. Indian Navy’s frigates start three-day visit to HCM City

World’s first zero-emission boat visits HCM City

Tra Vinh province plants forests to protect coasts, improve environment

(Photo: VNA) Tra Vinh (VNS/VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh is growing more forests and strengthening conservation of existing ones. This is meant to protect the environment, adapt to climate change and improve people’s livelihoods, according to the coastal province’s Forest Protection Sub-department. The province plans to plant 2.1 million trees in the 2021-25 period, 1.1 million in urban and rural areas and the rest in 372ha of forests. Nguyen Vu Phuong, head of the sub-department, said 200,000 trees would be planted in forests every year. Tra Vinh is one of the delta’s provinces hardest hit by climate change , especially rising sea levels, which have impacted the environment and the lives of people living in coastal areas.
