Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - A never-before-seen painting by celebrated Vietnamese artist Mai Trung Thu (1906-1980) will be offered at Bonhams Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art on October 4. Le Collier (The Necklace), carrying an estimate of 2,500,000 – 4,000,000 HKD (320,000 - 511,000 USD), was formerly in the private collection of Federico Möller de Berg (1899-1991), a renowned Uruguayan sculptor who acquired it directly from Thu in 1948 – the year the two artists first met in Paris. Federico studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiére and belonged to a circle of artists who shared and admired each other’s works. It was there Federico came across Thu’s paintings . Dong Ho Ballet to debut in Hanoi this month
For the first time, Vietnam's famous Dong Ho folk paintings are appreciated in a new language: ballet. The ballet titled "Dong Ho", inspired by the famous Vietnamese folk painting will be performed on the evening of March 22 and 23 at the Hanoi Opera House, according to Vietnam National Opera & Ballet. The poster of the Ballet "Dong Ho" The ballet will be directed and staged by overseas Vietnamese choreographer Nguyen Ngoc Anh. Dong Ho folk painting is considered a cultural icon of Vietnam. Addressing the opening of the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Festival 2023 (AI4VN) in Ho Chi Minh City on September 22, Dat said the building of this workforce aims to achieve the goal of making Vietnam an innovation and AI hub in ASEAN and the world, as outlined in the national strategy on research, development and application of AI till 2030.
