(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has successfully organised SEA Games 31, rounding off the tournament with a spectacular ceremony, Malaysia’s media have said. In an article titled ‘Hanoi SEA Games ends in colourful, vibrant, spectacular style’, Vikneswaran Raman of the Malaysian news agency Bernama reviewed highlights of the Games’ closing ceremony at Hanoi's My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena. The reporter said the ceremony, powered by stunning light shows and marked the rejuvenation of sports in the region. The article also noted Vietnam in its second time hosting the sports event, topped the medal tally with a massive 205-125-116 medal haul. P(hoto: VnExpress) Hanoi (VNA) - Head coach Park Hang-seo has announced his squad of 23 players for the national team's friendly match against Afghanistan on June 1 at Thong Nha Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. The list includes several outstanding faces who competed in the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup , such as goalkeeper Dang Van Lam and defender Do Duy Manh. Also included are three other players from the U23 team who won gold medal at the SEA Games 31, Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Tien Linh and Nguyen Hoang Duc. In addition, Park also called new names including Tran Dinh Khuong and Truong Van Thai Quy for the event which is a warm-up for the AFF Cup. The event was attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Chairman of the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh; and ministers, ambassadors, all contingents and athletes participating in the SEA Games 31. Special performances at the closing ceremony left an unforgettable impression on international friends and demonstrated Vietnam as a country deeply imbued with its traditional cultural identities and intensively integrating into the world. During the ceremony, the SEA Games flag was handed over to Cambodian representatives. Artists from Cambodia then had a performance of “Cambodia welcoming and blessing” to introduce their country, people and culture. With 40 sports, SEA Games 31 took place in Hanoi and 11 nearby localities. Vietnam ranked first in the medal tally with 205 gold, 125 silver, and 116 bronze medals. The tournament  will be divided into two stages. The first stage will take place from June 1 in Lam Dong province with five teams of Cao Bang, Hung Gia Khang Dak Lak, Quang Nam, Tan Hiep Hung, Vietfootball. They will compete in a round robin format to decide the four teams that will progress to the second stage. The second stage will witness the participation of the four winners in the first stage and the top six teams from last year’s National Futsal HDBank Championships, including Thai Son Nam, Sahako, Zetbit  Sai Gon FC, Thai Son Bac, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa, and Hieu Hoa Da Nang. The ten teams will compete in two legs. The first leg will take place from June 13 to July 4 in Lam Dong province while the second leg will be held from November 5 to 26 in Can Tho City.
