Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) HCM City (VNA) – The Ministry of Labour , Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) held a national conference in Ho Chi Minh City on September 28 to discuss the implementation of a project on building and implementing an action plan to realise goals of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) until 2025 (Project 161), in both in-person and online format. The annual event brought together the ASEAN Secretariat in Indonesia, the MoLISA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Government Office, and various ministries and agencies within the ASCC in Vietnam, along with leaders from southern cities and provinces. Over 400 exhibitors from 17 countries and territories are joining the 21st Vietnam International Printing and Packaging Industry Exhibition (VietnamPrintPack 2023), which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, in search of investment and cooperation opportunities. The participating printing and packaging enterprises come from Germany, China, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Britain, and the United States. According to insiders, Vietnam faces a shortage of providers of high-quality printing and packaging services and products. VietnamPrintPack plays a key role in helping foster the printing and packaging industry in Vietnam. The train consists of 19 carriages carrying about 500 tonnes of tapioca starch. It departed from Song Than station and is scheduled to arrive in Putian, Zhengzhou in the Chinese province of Henan on October 5. It marked the first time the station has been involved in the local export-import activities. Speaking at the event, Director of Binh Duong provincial Customs Department Nguyen Tran Hieu said Binh Duong has risen to the third place nationwide in terms of exports-imports, about 40% of which has been with China, mostly via waterway and partly by road. Last year, Song Than station handled over 1.6 million tonnes of goods, mostly electronic equipment, automobiles, food, raw materials for production, and products manufactured for industrial zones in Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. It commenced its journey from Sóng Thần Station and is scheduled to reach its destination in Putian, Zhengzhou, located in China's Henan province, on October 5.
