Former champions Viet Nam were defeated by South Korea 1-4, as their rivals proved more skilful and powerful. In the qualifying round last week, Viet Nam lost 0-1 to the same rivals. In the second semis, Thailand suffered a 0-1 loss to Indonesia, a goal scored in the first few minutes of the match. American religious freedom delegation visits Viet Nam (23-05-2009) HA NOI — A US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) delegation visited Viet Nam from May 11-22 to study the religious situation and related policies in Viet Nam. Viet Nam Wishes Strategic Ties with Multinationals: President
Viet Nam wishes to set up trustful and strategic relations with multinational companies to facilitate industrialization and modernization in the country, said President Tran Duc Luong. The President made the statement in Ha Noi on February 8, 2006 while he was receiving Leslie Van de Walle, General Director in charge of sales for the Shell oil Group of the Netherlands, which was among the first international groups to come to Viet Nam in the 1980s. Mr. Luong applauded Shell's interest in expanding its business strategy in Viet Nam. Viet Nam’s WTO entry to boost American investment
Viet Nam's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will boost the level of American investment in the country as proper implementation of the agreement will help increase investors’ confidence, Adam R. Sitkoff, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Ha Noi, said.
