PAN congratulates doctors on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day

The units were Vietnam Military Medical University, Military Hospital 103, Le Huu Trac National Institute of Burns under the Military Medical University, Military Institute of Traditional Medicine, and the Military Institute of Medical Radiology and Oncology (Military Medicine Department under the General Department of Logistics). During the visits, Senior Colonel Tuan congratulated the troops, doctors, and medical staff of these units on the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, applauding that they have fulfilled their assigned missions, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control, contributing to raising troops’ and people’s health. He also hoped that in the coming time, the units would promote coordination with the PAN in dissemination work, contributing to raising the quality of healthcare as well as promoting the beautiful images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. Art show “Only love remains” to honour doctors and medical staffs

The Hanoitimes - The program is even more meaningful as the country is combating the Covid-19 pandemic, in which many doctors and nurses are devoting their utmost efforts to cure the infected people and rescue the most critical patients. An art event entitled “Only love remains” will broadcast live on VTV2 channel of Vietnam Television at 9pm on February 26 on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctor’s Day (February 27). The 90-minute event is expected to highlight outstanding achievements of Vietnamese doctors and instill a sense of pride and admiration among audiences. The art performance is a once-in-a-year occasion for the Party, government and Vietnamese people to appreciate achievements and great efforts made by doctors, scientists and medical staffs who overcame many difficulties and hardships to fulfill their tasks, and encourage them to contribute more to the nations’ healthcare system. The “Only love remains” art performance also honors the outstanding individuals who have great contributions to the Vietnamese medicine, including Doctor Nguyen Tai Thu, the renowned acupuncture master who passed away some days ago. Late professor Nguyen Tai Thu - Photo: Kinh te & Do thi. Thu's life and work story featured in the program will bring to the audience an authentic perspective on medical ethics of the acupuncturist. Late professor Thu is a leading Vietnamese acupuncturist who developed acupuncture into a scientific and academic technique applied locally and around the world. His contributions to Vietnamese acupuncture will never be forgotten and are being passed on by the next generations. The professor is also renowned as “the doctor of the poor”. Thu spent most of his time studying acupuncture therapies and helping poor people. Hùng Kings Festival 2021 to exclude festivities

Visitors to the Hùng Temple Relic are asked to wear masks and keep their distance from others. — VNA/VNS Photo Trung Kiên HÀ NỘI — The Hùng Kings Festival, which pays tribute to the founders and first kings of the nation, will be held similarly to last year, with ceremonial activities but no festivities. The plans for the national major festival were decided at a meeting of the People's Committee of the northern province of Phú Thọ where it is held annually. The ceremonies will be conducted with the death anniversary of the great father of the nation Lạc Long Quân and the incense offering to commemorate great mother of the nation Âu Cơ on April 17 and incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hùng Kings and the flower offering ceremony on April 21. Speaking at the meeting, vice chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hồ Đại Dũng said the event would take place in a respectful atmosphere, while strictly abiding by measures to prevent COVID-19 from spreading under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. This is the second year the Hùng Kings Festival will include only ceremonial activities and no festivities. According to Lê Trường Giang, director of the Hùng Kings Temple Relic Management Board, the temple received more than 20,000 visitors on the occasion of Tết (Lunar New Year). “The measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic have been taken seriously at the historical site. At the same time, the visitors’ awareness has been much improved this year,” he said. The Hùng Kings Temple Relic Complex covers more than 1,000ha, more than half of which is forest. The complex is scattered with dozens of temples dedicated to the legendary kings. There are some 300 temples dedicated to the Hùng Kings and other figures from the Hồng Bàng dynasty (2879 to 258 BC) in Phú Thọ, and nearly 1,500 sites dedicated to the kings throughout the country.
