AstraZeneca: three healthcare priorities in the new normal

May 16, 2022 by vir.com.vn

Nitin Kapoor-Chairman and general director AstraZeneca Vietnam At AstraZeneca, our scientists, lab researchers, medical, regulatory and corporate affairs teams, amongst others, have worked tirelessly to see this day. We told ourselves that this is probably the only chance in our lifetime to play such an important role in fighting a pandemic of this scale. It was our duty to offer our best to protect the people. We worked closely with the Vietnamese government, the Ministry of Health, VNVC, and other partners to deliver and support the bilateral donations of more than 70 million doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine. Our motivation was to ensure that Vietnam would be one of the first countries in Asia to have access to vaccines to save lives. Vietnam now possesses one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, and we cannot be prouder of what we have accomplished together. But as a healthcare company, our responsibility does not stop there. While the hardest part of the … [Read more...] about AstraZeneca: three healthcare priorities in the new normal

Three children aged 4-6 drown in southern Vietnam

May 17, 2022 by tuoitrenews.vn

Three children aged four to six drowned after falling into a pond while playing near their homes in Binh Phuoc Province, southern Vietnam on Monday morning, local authorities confirmed later the same day. The authorities handed over the bodies of the victims, including six-year-old D.V.T., four-year-old D.V.T, and four-year-old B.T.B.N., to their families on Monday afternoon. Tran Dai Lam, a 40-year-old local resident, had seen the three children heading toward his house’s pond, which is about three meters deep and 50 meters wide, at around 10:00 am on the day, but he was busy and did not follow up with checking on the kids. It was not until around one hour and a half later that Lam noticed two pairs of child footwear next to the pond. The man jumped into the pond over a worry that the children had fallen into the water and found all of the three already drowned. Local police arrived shortly after and examined the scene. They then managed to locate a slip trace next to the … [Read more...] about Three children aged 4-6 drown in southern Vietnam
