Collaborating with AI
ChatGPT's potentials are exciting, but we also hear about its potential impacts on our lives, especially in our work life, namely it can displace white-color workers. It is both exciting and unnerving at the same time. As a writer, I want OpenAI's AI to help me with my writing. I rely on GPT-3, a generative AI model that assist writers in their writing using prompts. This essay is a collaboration between GPT-3 and me. I am describing the process that I used it step by step, and how one can take advantage of it to engage in the creative writing process. The first step is to set up an account on OpenAI to use GPT-3. There are two ways to write with GPT-3. The first way is to use OpenAI's Playground user interface. The second way, and a more technical way is to use OpenAI's Application Programming Interface. Since I can also code, I used the second method because it allows for more control in prompt design. Once the pipeline is ready, I start writing, one sentence at a time. I … [Read more...] about Collaborating with AI
Vietnamese can’t wait for official rollout, pay for ChatGPT accounts using VPN
Seeing friends chat with the artificial intelligence-based chatbot provided by U.S. startup OpenAI, Hong Nhung, an office clerk in the central city of Da Nang, tried to create an account. However, in Vietnam, the only way yet to set up an account is by using a virtual private network (VPN) and getting a foreign phone number. Since she was unable to do it by herself, Nhung turned to service providers. "Some people say they will do it for free, some say they will do it for a cup of coffee but others charge VND20,000 to VND200,000," she said. In the end she managed to set up an account for VND20,000. Dong Quan, the administrator of a ChatGPT group with more than 20,000 members, said demand increased sharply a week ago. There are dozens of posts about selling accounts and how to use the chatbot on the online group every day, and each attracts hundreds of comments, he said. The price varies based on the flexibility to change passwords and other benefits, he explained. Some … [Read more...] about Vietnamese can’t wait for official rollout, pay for ChatGPT accounts using VPN
