The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) have proposed quickening the pace of construction of Tho Xuan Airport Terminal 2 in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa. The Thanh Hoa provincial project would cost some VND2.12 trillion to expand Tho Xuan Airport in the 2022-2025 period, including Terminal 2’s construction. Once completed, Terminal 2 could serve five million passengers a year. Tho Xuan Airport The airport’s Terminal 1 is expected to surpass its design capacity of 1.2 million passengers per year by the end of this year. The expansion plans are also part of the national airport development planning for 2021-2030 submitted by the Ministry of Transport to the government. However, the planning has not yet been approved.
