Vietnam gathers opinions on building voluntary national review on SDGs
An overview of the conference (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on March 24 jointly held a consultation conference on Vietnam’s voluntary national review (VNR) on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Vietnam conducted the VNR, a mechanism through which countries assess and present national progress made in implementing the 2030 Agenda, for the first time in 2018. In this second time in 2023, Vietnam will submit the report together with 41 other countries. Addressing the event, head of the MPI’s Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment Le Viet Anh said that through this mechanism, Vietnam hopes to share its achievements and progresses during the realisation of the 2030 Agenda, which was adopted by the UN in September 2015 with 17 SDGs. National Defense Academy concludes training courses for Lao and Cambodian troops
Over the past time, implementing the Party’s and State’s foreign policies and guidelines as well as tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense, the academy has trained a number of Lao and Cambodian military officers. Accordingly, after over five months, nearly 60 trainees completed the two courses as scheduled with good results. During these courses, the trainees were equipped with knowledge about Vietnam’s internal and external policies; defense and security in Vietnam and in the region; Vietnamese military art as well as its cause of national liberation, construction and defense. In addition, they also learnt more about Vietnamese history and culture, among others. The highlight among them is the 2023 Ha Long Carnival, slated for April 30 evening on Vo Nguyen Giap street in Bai Chay ward. The 120-minute programme will feature performances of popular singers, dancers, actors, and folk artisans and nearly 2,000 others from local troupes. Hanoi seeks UNESCO’s support in preserving cultural heritage
Hanoi aims to have the necessary facilities to take the first steps toward restoring the main space of Kinh Thien Palace in 2023. Ocean dialogue discusses offshore renewable energy potential
