They also fought to safeguard national sovereignty over sea and islands, prevented armed pirates, conducted search and rescue operations, and fire-fighting activities. On the occasion, participating coast guards disseminated information and distributed leaflets on national sovereignty over sea and islands, and presented 600 national flags to local fishermen.
