The pandemic has pushed forward the trends of e-commerce in Vietnam 2-3 years earlier than forecast with the sector growing in size four times over last year, according to a 2021 Lazada report. “Some of the e-commerce trends we expected would happen in 2025, such as in edutech and fintech, have already happened in 2022,” noted Nguyen Huy Hoang, chief business officer at OnPoint E-commerce. “Hence, all e-commerce platform companies are investing hugely in Vietnam.” However, as shopping centres and small brick-and-mortar stores are now reopened, many investors are concerned that the boom in e-commerce was just a short-term fad and the majority of consumers could quickly shift back to offline shopping. Vietnamese students win three medals at 2022 European Physics Olympiad
Vietnamese students brought home two silver and one bronze medals at the 2022 European Physics Olympiad, the Vietnam Physics Society (VPS) announced on May 25. 55 Australia Awards Scholarship recipients ready to study in Australia
The recipients were selected from Vietnamese government officials, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, and private sectors. They will gain a world-class education and advance their knowledge and skills across a range of areas, including natural resource management, entrepreneurship, gender equality, disability inclusion and vocational education management. This year, the Australian Government has provided 10 more scholarships within the framework of the Mekong-Australia Partnership – a regional initiative by Australia to support Mekong countries with common challenges. Da Nang top official loses Party positions over extramarital affair
Trung has not upheld ethical standards and lifestyle, has violated regulations by engaging activities prohibited for Party members and violated the Law on Marriage and Family, said the Secretariat which is in charge of personnel issues of Party members. His violations have upset the community and affected the reputation of the Party and state authorities, it added. On Thursday, a woman employed at a high school in Da Nang posted a picture with Trung on Facebook, saying she has a child with him despite his marriage to another woman. One of the common recommendations regarded appropriate approaches to credit ratings. According to Can Van Luc, BIDV’s chief economist, there should be clear regulations on credit ratings to help investors easily determine business quality and the risk level of the issued bonds. “It is necessary to identify where a credit rating is mandatory and where a credit rating is encouraged.
