The latest figures of the Việt Nam Logistics Association revealed that logistics costs were equivalent to around 20-22 per cent of the country’s GDP, much higher than Thailand (19 per cent), China (18 per cent), Malaysia (13 per cent) and nearly three times higher than the US and Singapore (8 per cent). Themed “The National road-map and guidelines for e-logbook and electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) in Vietnam,” the workshop aims to share the results and lessons learned from eCDT pilot programs and make consultation on the road-map to applying e-logbook amd eCDT to the management of fishing activities and the implementation of the Fisheries Law 2017, heading for sustainable and responsible fisheries development in Vietnam. At the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Capture Fisheries under the Directorate of Fisheries Pham Ngoc Tuan presented an overview of the development of the software and guidance on the implementation of e-logbook and eCDT, including training support and pilot programs in localities.
