Korean Air re-operates direct flights to Da Nang
Flight KE9463 of Korean Air with more than 200 passengers on board from Incheon International Airport landed at Da Nang International Airport on the same day. Korean Air began operating charter flights with a frequency of two flights per week to Da Nang on Wednesdays and Saturdays to meet the increasing needs of tourists. The firm plans to operate one regular flight per day from July 27. The number of foreign visitors to Da Nang has shown signs of strong growth after the success of the Asia Routes Development Forum 2022 with the opening of flight routes by foreign airlines to the city such as Malaysia Airlines, Air Seoul, and Bangkok Airways. Vietnam’s growth to rise by 6.5% in 2022: ICAEW

Vietnam is predicted with a high growth prospect in the region, at more than 6.5% in 2022, 0.7% higher than the average growth of 5.8% for the whole region. This was a key finding from the Economic Forecast presented by the experts at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Economic Insight Forum Q2. Vietnam was able to bounce back relatively quickly in 2021 compared to the rest of the region. ADMM to deepen ASEAN defense cooperation
Many cooperation initiatives have been implemented After the initiative to establish ADMM was approved at the 10th ASEAN Summit in Laos in November 2004, the first ADMM was successfully held in Malaysia in May 2006. Since then, ADMM has become an annual activity of the association’s defense ministers. It aims to promote regional peace and stability via dialogue and cooperation in defense and security; map out orientations for cooperation among ASEAN member countries and between ASEAN, its friends and dialogue partners. It also helps enhance trust and knowledge about defense and security challenges and boost transparency and openness in the region, contributing to building the ASEAN Security Community (later renamed the ASEAN Political-Security Community). Hanoi’s first metro line posts over $2.7mn loss in 2021 audited financial report
Hanoi Metro, the operator of Hanoi’s Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line, posted losses of over VND63.7 billion (US$2.7 million), inclusive of VND12.2 billion ($525,000) in corporate management costs, in 2021 since the metro line was put into service in November last year. The firm had already been operating at a deficit given the VND22.7 billion ($976,120) loss it incurred in 2020, prior to the metro line’s inauguration. According to its 2021 audited financial report, Hanoi Metro earned just VND5.3 billion ($228,220) from ride fares for the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line. During the year, its income from financial activities jumped 133 percent from 2020 to VND2.1 billion ($90,400). Its expenses, however, amounted to more than VND58.9 billion ($2.5 million), including VND43.7 billion ($1.88 million) in labor costs. ADMM-16 adopts joint declaration
During the meeting, delegates exchanged regional and international defense and security situations. They agreed on accelerating collaboration in handling such challenges in the region as terrorism, natural disasters, search and rescue, cyber security, trust-building, maritime security-related issues, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation. Delegates also mentioned the need to enhance cooperation in U.N. peacekeeping operations among ASEAN member states.
