Indonesia, Iran to sign preferential trade agreement

The ministry's director general of international trade negotiations, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono said that it will be the second agreement between Indonesia and the Middle East region as the first was signed with UAE on July 1, 2022. According to Djatmiko, the PTA signing will be carried out within the framework of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Indonesia from May 23 - 24. CJ CGV posts record quarterly operating profit in Vietnam
It saw a year-on-year rise of 125.6% in revenue, and additional KRW7.1 billion in operating profit. This is the highest-ever quarterly operating profit the film distributor reported in Vietnam, even higher than the KRW2.1 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2019 before the Covid-19 outbreak had begun. Canada extends Vietnam-origin steel sheet deadline
The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has recently received notification that the CBSA will revise its deadline in the case of an anti-dumping duty order imposed on corrosion-resistant steel sheets originating from Vietnam. The CBSA will conclude its information collection on June 15 and the due date for litigants to submit their arguments is June 22. Stakeholders will have until June 29 to submit their comments. The investigation's findings will be released on July 17. the TRAV advocates that stakeholders take prompt action to investigate the latest CBSA updates. According to World Trade Organisation statistics, Canada had investigated 362 related cases and imposed 230 trade remedies by the end of June 2022. Canada to review duty taxes on Viet Nam’s corrosion-resistant steel

Particularly, CBSA will stop gathering information on June 15, and the parties will submit their arguments on June 22. The deadline for submitting information is June 29, and CBSA will announce the result on July 17. Previously, CBSA proposed anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations against COR steel imported from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Viet Nam in November 2019. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Vietnam's GDP based on purchasing power parity (PPP) stood in 25 th position globally in 2022, ranking just below countries such as Australia, and Poland.
